We first learned about McCreary Homes from a satisfied client. LJ McCreary has subsequently built two homes for us in Tucson. We never gave consideration to using another contractor when it came to our second home, due to our tremendous satisfaction with the performance of McCreary Homes on the first project. Throughout both of our projects we were always kept in the communications loop…no surprises, and the realistic budget process came in very close to our initial expectations. We would not hesitate to use LJ to build our third home!

From the beginning to the end of the building process, our experience with LJ and McCreary Homes was excellent – LJ is such a good problem solver that he really made the building process smooth. LJ even helped us evaluate a couple of lots that helped us decide on the one we eventually purchased.
The best thing about working with McCreary Homes was the customer service. LJ always returned calls and came back with information as requested. I was never worried during the process. Overall, the entire experience was nearly completely stress-free, within budget and the quality of our home was very good.
During the building process, LJ McCreary was always available and willing to correct any problems that came up. As mentioned above he is an excellent problem solver and works it so that everyone is satisfied. We had one problem where he clearly made a mistake, but it could easily have been overlooked. Instead, not only did he bring the problem to our attention, but he then fixed it without a complaint although it cost quite a bit of money.
I would like to emphasize that LJ is very reliable and always available. These traits would make him an excellent choice for a builder, especially for people that are building homes from outside of Tucson and really need to rely on their builder.
LJ McCreary and McCreary Homes was an excellent partner from the very beginning. Despite bringing him in before we even bought the lot, we never felt that he was adding extra money into the project. We never bid out the work but had complete confidence we were getting good value with LJ. We would recommend that anyone bring LJ on board before the architect is selected as he really helped us during the design stage.

I have worked with McCreary homes on two large projects. One was a bath , kitchen and interior remodel of my 100+ year old home. Currently a major 1000 sq ft add on to the same home is almost complete. I cannot imagine working with any other contractor. L.J. And his foreman Scott are so amazing to work with. They think of every detail and they work with seasoned subcontractors for wood work, electrical, plumbing , tile painting etc. each of the subcontractors are skilled craftsmen who LJ has worked with and vetted. When it came to design for the kitchen and bath, L.J. referred me to a wonderful design coordinator , Tam. When I needed an idea of how to design the addition of a primary bedroom suite and laundry room, LJ knew just the right design/ drafting firm and Paul was delightful to work with. The tile work in the kitchen and bath areas was done beautifully by a meticulous tile installer. All of the woodwork in the addition was hand crafted to match the original home interior by Ken and his team. When I saw the perfect porch railing in Telluride, they recreated it for my new covered porch . Sitting on this porch delights me every morning with a cup of coffee. There are painters and then there are excellent seasoned painters. LJ only works with the latter. Along the way things have come up and if I want a change, LJ and Scott really listen to me. This project from beginning to end is top quality, LJ is particularly great at finding terrific people to do everything that needs to be done. My dream home is almost finished and from beginning to completion I have enjoyed the experience. This 100 + year old home I bought 14 years ago has been brought up to date and is tastefully and historically beautiful. This project never would have happened without McCreary Homes.

From the beginning to the end, the experience of working with the McCreary team was very positive. L.J. McCreary helped us locate a new building site when we needed one Ð no small task. Jerry Seybert, construction manager, was extraordinary.
He was patient working through changes, additions, etc. with good humor. His attention to detail and his demand for excellence on the job was greatly appreciated. He kept his subs lined up and the job was seldom delayed because of “no shows”.

The workmanship, quality of construction and the attention to detail in my home is outstanding. All of that coupled with the architectural design have gone a long way to making this the house I want to spend the next 20 years in. I should also tell you that three months after I bought the property, I turned down an offer of twice what I paid for the house.
